I found the room size quite small for two people, however the bathroom size was fabulous.
As above, twin size room was small for two people.

I recently had a wonderful stay at Ahikaa Motel in Gisborne. the bed was incredibly comfortable, with nice sheets and a cozy duvet. the aircon warmed the room easily, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. the owners were extremely helpful and even allowed me to use their reception phone when I received bad news from home. I also enjoyed the delicious cooked breakfast that was offered. the motel's location was great, as it was just a short walk from the beach. the room itself was comfortable, with a spacious bathroom that had a wet-room shower. I also had the pleasure of meeting their friendly cat, Mazda, who was not pushy or intrusive.

The spacious unit provided ample room for our large family, with a separate bedroom, a large bathroom, and a spacious living area and kitchen. The cleanliness and modern decor of the room made us feel right at home. We were especially impressed with the nice big bathroom, complete with a walk-in shower. The motel's convenient location, adjacent to Gisborne city beach and the boardwalk, was perfect for beach lovers like us. We enjoyed easy access to swimming, surfing, and pleasant riverside walks. The friendly owners and management made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
For dads, it would be great to have a small playground area for the children to enjoy.

Staying here was an incredible experience. I loved how friendly the staff were, they really made me feel at home. The hotel facilities were top notch, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The location was perfect as it was close to both the town and the beach. I was able to walk to the beachfront and enjoy the scenery.
Nothing not too like.

The room was super clean and I especially loved the cultural artifacts that added a unique touch. The walk-in shower was fantastic and the motel itself was comfortable and enjoyable. The location was great, close to the beach and only a short distance from the town center. I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this motel.

The studio room was amazing! It had everything we needed, like a sink and microwave, and the king bed was so comfortable. The wet area was a great touch, especially for disabled guests like us.
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the double spa bath. But hey, that's just my preference.

The motel was conveniently located close to the beach and we found the room clean upon arrival. the comfortable bed and the generous bathroom were also appreciated.
The motel lacked some basic amenities like a microwave, and the gaudy red color in the room was overpowering.

We loved how close the hotel was to an awesome beach, perfect for a day of fun in the sun! the well-appointed room was lovely and modern, with clean and spacious bathrooms. the friendly staff and free WiFi made the stay enjoyable. the delicious breakfast, complete with fresh fruit salad, was a great way to start the day.
We were disappointed that the hotel did not include a coffee plunger and only offered instant coffee.

Enjoyed a glass of locally chilled wine on the private balcony with partial sea views. Pedaled side-by-side on a unique tandem cycle along the actual rails. Experienced unforgettable Māori activities.
Loved how the motel welcomed anti-social behavior, really added to the ambiance.

Loved the Maori art and friendly staff. The location was perfect for our romantic escape, only steps away from the beach. We also appreciated the spacious and clean room.
Disliked the lack of storage in the bathroom, it was a bit frustrating not having anywhere to put our toiletries during the shower. the ashtray outside contained cigarette butts which was not a pleasant sight.
